Costa Rican Cultural Activities
The enjoyment of Costa Rica Cutural activiites depends on the time of year you visit. Many of these activities come from European or Indian roots. Many buildings show a Spanish influence because of obvious strong links to that nation in the past. At Christmas and Easter many processions can be seen in Costa Rica, with everyone encouraged to join in by the warm and friendly people of this central american country. Various theaters around San Jose have regular activities for your enjoyment.
Costa Rica Beaches
Of course, the beaches are one of Costa Rica best attractions for visitors and residents alike. The beaches on the Pacific are some of nicest you will find in all of Costa Rica. The beach town of Jaco offers the most lively beach town in the country with lots to do at all times and a good night life. Tamarindo in the North is a booming surf town, but smaller than Jaco.

Many other beaches up and down the coast that are too many to list here offer the chance to enjoy beaches with few people crowding your space – no fighting for a place on the beach in Costa Rica. One of my favorites is the beach at Playa Tambor where there are long white sand beaches and no footprints but yours, yet plenty of comfortable hotels and one of the best Golf Courses in Costa Rica.
On the Caribbean coast try Puerto Viejo and Punta Uva for a wonderful costa rican beach experience.
Lake Arenal
Arenal lake is becoming more popular all the time here. If the beaches are not your thing, then Lake Arenal is a great alternative. Lake Arenal is one of worlds best windsurfing lakes, and offers great fishing, hiking and related activities. Winds on the lake can reach sustained speeds up to 45 miles per hour, which is why the hills to the west of Lake Arenal are covered with wind turbines producing much of the electricity used by Costa Rica.

The popularity of Lake Arenal has attracted eco tourism hotels, new-age healing centers, green developments and gated residential communities with ecological and water activity themes.
Volcano and Volcano spas are abundant in near by La Fortuna a bustlying tourist destination at the base of Volcano Arenal. Adventure is never far away in this area you simply have to choose which activity you want to be involved in.
Ecotourism
Considered one of the most bio-diverse regions in the world, Costa Rica is divided in 20 natural parks, 8 biological reserves, and a series of protected areas that captivate ecotourism lovers. The variety of activities includes horseback riding, hiking mountainous paths in the cloud forests, and guided bird-watching tours.
Tortuguero National Park is especially famous for sea turtle nesting that takes place every year, and the natural canals that abound with protected species such as crocodiles, manatees, and otter.
Come and enjoy the beauty and diversity of Costa Rica.
