The Central Pacific Coast

This area has always been popular due to its proximity to San Jose, but with the opening of a new highway currently under construction and opening in mid 2010 it has really been booming.

The principal beach town in the area is Jaco beach, a popular beach town that has grown from nothing. Jaco is very popular due to its level of activity and services. Compared to all other beach towns in Costa Rica it is for sure the liveliest and where the action is. Good surf in Jaco and Playa Hemosa just south of Jaco. Good night life restaurants and bars.

The world famous marina and community of Los Suenos is just North of Jaco with lots of outstanding homes for sale there. Sports fishing fans will find many boats for hire to take you out to the hot fishing locations up and down the coast. North of that is Playa Blanca with the Punta Leona development which is very nice. The town and beach at Punterenas are popular mainly with locals.

South of Jaco the area of Quepos - Manuel Antonio are also getting a marina. Some great national parks in this area for all to enjoy. The roads have really been improved in this area over the last few years so rent a car and explore….
